Letter from Dave Levac, MPP Brant

To: Aberdeen Health and Community Services Volunteers

As the Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Brant I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the Volunteers of Aberdeen Health and Community Services

Volunteers are the lifeblood of many social service organizations. Volunteers serve in many capacities within organizations by contributing time, energy and talent that help to fulfill the organizations' mission. Volunteers generate enthusiasm and interest and help to create a positive image of the organization in the community. Volunteers extend, expand and support the work of paid staff. Communities benefit from volunteers’ contributions in that the services they provide help individuals, families and the community to address local needs and problems.

The work you do is vital to Aberdeen and their clients. You offer support and social interaction to isolated individuals through regular friendly visits, you provide support to clients and their caregivers impacted by a life threatening or terminal illness, you provide regular visits to potentially frail, homebound seniors and you provide assistance with exercise programs.

Your commitment to our community, to Aberdeen Health and Community Services and most importantly to the clients you serve is highly commendable. The recognition and appreciation you are receiving today is well deserved.

Again, thank you for your dedication and service.

Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless.

Respectfully,

Dave Levac, MPP
