Heather Bruce Executive Director
Heather has 30+ years of varied nursing and leadership experience. Her clinical practice settings include; tertiary critical care, rehabilitation, in-home community care and the CCAC. Leadership roles include Regional Manager, Director of Nursing, Program Manager, Director of Medical Services and Senior Director.
Heather has her RN Diploma, a BScN from Brandon University and her Masters in Arts [Leadership] from the University of Guelph.
Heather has lived in Branford in her ‘dream home’ since 2001.

Mike McCarroll Manager of Finance and Quality
Mike McCarroll is a Certified Management Accountant with his Bachelors of Economics from McMaster University. He brings to this position many years of experience in community and public health care administration. He has great strengths in overseeing finance, human resources and information services. Here he is pictured with his son, Will.

Amber Cowan Manager of Community Engagement and Communication
Amber Cowan has had over ten years experience working in Volunteer Services and Community Development for not-for-profit organizations. After earning her degree from McMaster University, she worked for a children’s aid society and a university before coming to Aberdeen. Amber has developed a passion for hospice palliative care since starting at Aberdeen two years ago and is proud to work for a leader in community health services.

LeeAnn Lake Manager of Home Support Services
LeeAnn is a Registered Practical Nurse who has worked with Aberdeen since 1991. She has been a direct care provider and a Supervisor of Home Support.
LeeAnn recently became certified as an instructor in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention [NVCI]. She is currently working on her Certificate in Management Studies from Mohawk College. LeeAnn has been a Brantford resident all her life.

Alicja Paczkowski Supervisor of Nursing Services
Registered Nurse, Alicja Paczkowski, has spent the majority of her career working in community nursing. Alicja provides hands-on teaching to our nurses who work on the front lines. She is a certified First Aid & CPR/AED Instructor. Alicja also very busy in the fall coordinating our Wellness Programs and the 100+ flu clinics we provide to Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk!

Terry Ondusko Supervisor of Home Support Services -Brant
Coming from Simcoe, Terry Ondusko is a Registered Practical Nurse with 25 years nursing experience. The majority of her career has been spent working in a hospital setting, which gives her a unique perspective when working within the community. Terry is a Red Cross Certified CPR and First Aid instructor.

Shawna Pickard Supervisor of Home Support Services -- Haldimand and Norfolk
A Simcoe Ontario resident, and highly skilled RPN, Shawna comes to Aberdeen with not only her education but also a breadth of experience caring for complex community patients as a visiting nurse. She supervises all home support workers within Haldimand and Norfolk as well as leading our Alzheimer's Respite Program.

Karen Platt Senior Coordinator of Volunteer Services
Karen has over fifteen years experience in the social services sector, working with volunteers and managing programs. She has worked at a children’s aid society and also in residential placement facilities. Her experience working with clients from varied ethnicities, generations and income levels have given Karen a great intuition for effective communication.

Jennifer brings to Aberdeen over 10 years experience working with seniors. She has been involved in LHIN Aging At Home Intitatives and is well prepared to take on this new program being offered at Aberdeen.

Jackie Bateson Team Leader of Caseload Planners
Jackie did the job of “caseload planner” at Aberdeen for over 15 years, first in Haldimand/Norfolk and since 1992 here in Brant. Jackie is a Master of the very complex art of caseload planning and as such has taken on the role of Supervisor. Jackie is also a certified FIT tester and is enrolled in the Certificate for Management Studies from Mohawk College. Jackie is also a life long resident of Brantford.

Laurie McKenzie Payroll Supervisor
Laurie has worked at Aberdeen for 18 years. She has held many different administrative positions and that experience gives her a priceless in-depth knowledge of the many dimensions of Aberdeen.
Laurie currently manages a large payroll portfolio with a high level of professionalism and efficiency.
