Heroes in the Home:

Caregiver Recognition

The care given to clients as they face short, long or chronic health or aging challenges makes a huge difference in their day to day life. For many clients, their caregivers are a part of their renewal – a breath of fresh air and the gift of hope – hope for healing – hope for a new outlook or simply the hope that comes from knowing someone cares and they have not been forgotten.

The Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Community Care Access Centre (HNHB CCAC) wants to celebrate and say thank you to the special individuals who give so much of themselves to help others in need in our communities.   The Heroes in the Home caregiver recognition program honours unpaid caregivers, including family members, friends and volunteers whose kindness and commitment allows our clients and others to live full lives in their communities, despite the limitations of age, illness, or disability.

Whether it is through warm smiles, gentle hands, shared laughter, or caring expertise, caregivers make it possible for countless individuals to live at home with dignity.

Please take a few moments to recognize a caregiver you know.  Just complete the one page nomination form and submit it to the HNHB CCAC before September 17, 2010.

Visit www.hnhb.ccac-ont.ca and go to “Nominate a Hero in the Home today” to learn more about the program and access a nomination form.

All nominees will be honoured at a special ceremony with a Certificate of Appreciation.  Events will take place Fall 2010 - locations and dates to be announced soon.
